Short Story Competition

Who can participate? 
Students ages 10-14 can submit a short story. Good luck!

What’s the timeline?
Submissions open October 1st and close October 31st. Winning entries will be published on November 15th.

Are there story requirements? 
We’re looking for awesome (fiction or nonfiction) stories about students’ daily lives. Word count: 500-1,000. Be creative and detailed. Like the stories in this book, it will help to have a great plot twist and lovable characters!

Can ESL students and “newcomers” participate? 
Yes! Stories can be written in native languages, translated using apps, and gently edited by ESL teachers.

What happens when someone wins?

In mid-November, the winners' stories will be published on this website, where thousands can read them! ​There may also be a prize or two (or three) up for grabs! ​
